About Me

Education

I’m currently pursuing a master’s degree in Translation and Localization Management at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies (MIIS), with a focus on Japanese language studies. Along with Japanese, I have a basic understanding of Vietnamese, Korean, and French. Before MIIS, I began my higher education studies at the University of Central Florida (UCF), where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering.

Before transitioning to the localization industry, I spent four years working in a chemical manufacturing setting as a quality assurance lab assistant. Although engineering was my starting point, my passion for language learning led me to shift careers. Now, I aim to connect people across cultures through translation and localization, blending my engineering knowledge with language expertise.

Personal Life

I was born and raised in Pensacola, Florida, a coastal city known for its beautiful beaches and the U.S. Navy Blue Angels flight crew. After high school, I moved to Orlando, Florida to attend UCF and now consider it my second home.

Growing up in a large family with 14 siblings, I learned the value of collaboration and adaptability early on. I’m deeply grateful for the strong support system my parents have built since immigrating from Vietnam to the United States in the late 1980’s. A huge part of who I am is mostly inspired by my older siblings who pursued engineering as their career path as well and I often look up to them for guidance.

Hobbies & Interests

In my free time, I enjoy cooking, baking, and spending quality time with family. While I’m more of an indoor person, I appreciate the occasional outings in nature hanging out with my friends and family. I spent most of my life in Florida near the Kennedy Space Center, so I always get excited to watch rocket launches in closer proximity. When time and budget allow, I also enjoy traveling – some of my favorite trips so far have been to Vietnam, South Korea, Japan, and Canada.
